Annual Members’ Event - 2011:
Your Chapter held an Annual members’ event on 15-December-2011.
A large number of chapter members attended the event.
The program comprised of following segments:
- President’s report for year 2011.
- Presentation on "Security and Audit concerns on the usage of social media"
- Certificate Distribution to exam passers:
Seminar at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University Karachi:
In collaboration with faculty of Computer Science, MAJU, your Chapter conducted a seminar on Information Security on 22nd November 2011.

A large number of audiences attended the Seminar and appreciated the effort of your Chapter. I would also like to tell you that after getting favorable response we have planned to target other institutions of the city to promote ISACA.
Discount for Chapter Members:
Quest Consultants offered 2 days workshop on BS-25999 and another 2 days workshop on ISO-27001. Due to our continuous efforts to support our Chapter Members, M/s. Quest Consultants agreed to offer 10% discount to members of ISACA Karachi Chapter.
ISACA Webinar & eSymposium:
I would like to inform you that ISACA will conduct a Live Webinar on “Concerned That Security Investments Still Leave You Vulnerable? “ on Thursday, 9 February 2012 Time: 12 pm (EST) / 11 am (CST) / 9 am (PST) / 17:00 (UTC) Duration: 60 minutes.
ISACA will also conduct an eSymposium on “Best Practices and Controls for Compliance and Risk Management” on 28th February 2012. Please mark your calendar for these events.
New CPE Policy from 2012:
Effective 1 January 2012, the annual limitation for each ISACA certification for qualifying activities that fall under “contributions to the profession” has been increased from a 10-hour annual limitation to a 20-hour annual limitation. These activities include work performed for ISACA and other bodies that contribute to the IT audit, control, security and governance professions (i.e., research development, certification review manual development, Knowledge Center contributions). The new policies can be viewed online on the CISA, CISM, CGEIT and CRISC CPE Policy pages.
Exam Registration Deadline:
Registration for the June 2012 exams is now open on the Exam Registration page. To view additional details, please visit the CISA, CISM, CGEIT and CRISC Bulletin of Information pages.
The early registration deadline is 8 February 201, while the final registration deadline is 6 April 2012.
