On 20 August, 2009  your chapter organized a seminar on IT Governance which was conducted by Mr. Fazal Ghafoor, a Board Member and the Chief Internal Auditor at the Central Depository Company of Pakistan limited. The seminar generated tremendous interest and your chapter intends to hold more seminars on such topics.
 
CISA and CISM Review Courses
 
For the December 2009 exams we had to depart from our regular schedule of classes as the Holy Month of Ramzan commenced in the third week of August and, therefore, there was no significant activity to report during Ramazan. However, you will be pleased to know that this is the first time your chapter successfully conducted the CISA  and CISM review courses simultaneously (CISM for the first time).  The number of candidates for the CISA and CISM courses were 18 and 9 respectively. While the CISM numbers are small I believe that we can increase this for the next exam with proper marketing.  Also after a long time the course was held at a different venue i.e. at the training Center of Ernst & Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder. The facility was offered to the Chapter free of cost. For the June exam your chapter also wishes to conduct the CGEIT classes, if the number of candidates are justifiable.
 
 
Appoint of New Directors
 
During the course of the year there were two vacancies. I am pleased to announce that as of the date of writing of this message there is no  vacancy and your Board is working with full capacity. Waqar Wahidi  (CISA & CGEIT) and Muhammad Maad (CISM, CGEIT  & PMP) have been elected as Directors on the Board to fill in the vacancies. The procedure followed was in accordance with the by Laws of the Chapter.

ISACA’s Strategic Direction continues to improve and from 1 January, 2010 its tag-line will change with a focus on Trust and Value.    

Virtual / On-line Classes
 
ISACA International is currently enhancing and restructuring its on-line training program in order to meet the training needs of its global membership.
 
The on-line COBIT Foundation Course™ exam is available at the ISACA® e-Learning Campus. Please visit www.isaca.org/elearning  for the most current information regarding enhancements and availability dates. I suggest that, as a member, you should avail this great opportunity of on-line classes & coursing being offered specifically to the ISACA members only.

Volunteers
